Brown Plus (formerly BSSF) is a financial services firm servicing clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. The firm recently rebranded to reflect the expansion of services and to appeal to a younger demographic.

For this project, my team worked with the Brown Plus marketing team through an extensive user-focused website strategy process. Our goal was to ensure the new site not only aligns with and advances the new branding, but also provides an easy and intuitive experience to help users find the resources and services they need.

Providing Options

For this project, the client asked us to provide multiple designs as they worked through their rebrand. This provided us with the interesting challenge of creating three unique designs that were still user-focused and fit the brand.

Brand Expansion

Our involvement in the project provided us with the opportunity to contribute to the development of the new Brown Plus brand as it was happening. We loved creating layouts, graphic elements, textures, and font treatments that will be part of the Brown Plus identity in the future.

Client Relations

Communication with the client was key to the success of the website. The team at Brown Plus allowed us to continually make the case for our design decisions and provided invaluable insights as the designs developed.

A Variety Of Work From the Brown Plus Website design Project

During the strategy phase of the project, I walked the client through the creation of 7  individual user personas. I then created individual user paths through the site for each persona, focusing on the person’s primary goal as the exit point. I developed wireframes for the 16 individual pages as well as 3 completely unique designs. Finally, I created prototypes for all of the unique interactions on the site.

Production and
Team Management

This project presented compelling challenges for me as a designer and for the broader team, as we were presented with triple the design work on a protracted timeline. I believe the site’s success is owed to the commitment of everyone involved to creativity and open collaboration.
